"Arab Environmental Day 2025" Held Under the Theme "Circular Economy and Climate Justice in the Face of Plastic Pollution" in Collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Environment Network and Arid International University

Arid International University, in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Environment Network and Arid Scientific Foundation, organized the "Arab Environmental Day 2025" under the theme "Circular Economy and Climate Justice in the Face of Plastic Pollution."

This significant environmental event brought together a distinguished group of experts and speakers from various Arab countries to discuss the major environmental challenges facing our planet and explore innovative solutions aligned with circular economy principles to address plastic pollution. The forum included three scientific sessions with contributions from 12 specialized speakers, including His Excellency Dr. Mohamed bin Seif Al Kuwari, an environmental expert and engineering advisor at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change in Qatar, who graced the event as the guest of honor.

In his opening speech, Dr. Saif Al Suwaidi, the Secretary-General of Arid International University, emphasized the importance of such collaborations, stating: "Collaboration between academic institutions and environmental organizations is essential to achieving the necessary changes in facing climate challenges. Arid International University is committed to developing sustainable solutions through scientific research and education, and we are proud to contribute to raising environmental awareness through events like this."

For his part, Professor Dr. Abdulrazak Mukhtar Mahmoud, President of Arid International University, highlighted the university's role in supporting environmental causes through its academic and research programs, saying: "Arid International University believes that science is the key to solving global environmental issues. Through this event, we reaffirm our commitment to promoting environmental education and sustainable scientific research that contributes practical solutions to the environmental challenges facing our world."

Participants in the event praised Arid International University for its adoption of important environmental issues within its research and educational curricula. The university contributes to the preparation of skilled scientific professionals capable of tackling environmental challenges, in addition to promoting climate justice and sustainable development.
