The Secretary-General participates in the Small Projects Forum in Qatar and reviews linking educational projects with the outputs of Areed International University.
In the context of strengthening cooperation between education and small enterprises, Dr. Saif Youssef Al-Suwaidi, Secretary-General of Areed International University for Graduate Studies, participated in the Small Projects Forum organized by the Ministry of Social Development and Family in the State of Qatar on February 16, 2025.
The forum witnessed the attendance of several prominent figures from various sectors, where a number of pioneering small projects implemented in Qatar were showcased. The discussions focused on mechanisms to support and develop these projects, as well as ways to enhance the role of academic education in driving innovation and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Al-Suwaidi emphasized the importance of linking academic education outcomes, especially at the graduate level, with labor market needs and the requirements of small enterprises. He explained that Areed International University seeks to provide academic programs that support entrepreneurship and small business development by developing students’ skills and enabling them to transform their ideas into successful projects.
Al-Suwaidi noted that the university focuses on strengthening integration between small projects and academic programs to provide practical, field-based training opportunities for its students, in addition to fostering initiative and innovation among them. He also stressed the need to develop educational curricula that keep pace with the developments of the digital economy and small enterprises, contributing to a qualitative leap in this sector.
Dr. Al-Suwaidi reviewed the most prominent small projects presented at the forum, praising the innovation and creativity embodied in these projects. He affirmed Areed International University for Graduate Studies’ readiness to cooperate with project owners by providing academic training and consulting services that contribute to the success and expansion of these initiatives.
It is noteworthy that this forum represents an important step towards enhancing the partnership between educational institutions and the private sector, offering an ideal opportunity to showcase successful experiences in small projects and the role of education in supporting and developing this vital sector in the State of Qatar.
