Urid Members’ Forum in the Sultanate of Oman: Enhancing Academic and Research Cooperation

As part of efforts to strengthen academic cooperation between Urid International University and its platform members, the Urid Members’ Forum was held in the Sultanate of Oman on Thursday, August 7, 2025. The event was attended by Dr. Saif Yousef Al-Suwaidi, Secretary-General of the University; Dr. Maryam Qais, Executive Director and Financial Secretary of the Urid Foundation; and Professor Dr. Yousef Al-Suwaidi, Dean of the College of Basic and Applied Sciences at the University.

The forum brought together a number of academics and researchers from various disciplines to discuss ways to enhance cooperation between the university and Urid platform members in Oman, and to exchange expertise and knowledge in education and scientific research. The discussions also highlighted the importance of using modern technology and artificial intelligence to develop the educational process and promote scientific research, contributing to sustainable development across various academic fields.

In his speech during the forum, Dr. Al-Suwaidi emphasized the importance of such meetings in building bridges of cooperation between Urid International University and its members across Arab countries, noting that the forum in Oman represents a significant opportunity to deepen academic relationships and expand collaboration in higher education and research.

The forum also addressed opportunities for cooperation in e-learning and joint academic programs, which enhance the ability of universities and educational institutions to meet the needs of the digital age, in addition to the importance of supporting innovation in academic and research fields.

Dr. Maryam Qais expressed her pleasure in attending and participating in the forum, highlighting that such meetings contribute to knowledge exchange and broaden the horizons of academic cooperation between the university and Urid platform members. She stressed the importance of promoting such events to develop the educational system in the region.

Professor Dr. Yousef Al-Suwaidi also pointed out the importance of encouraging scientific research and providing continuous support to students and researchers in Oman, reaffirming Urid International University’s commitment to offering advanced academic programs that meet students’ needs and contribute to achieving academic excellence.

At the conclusion of the forum, participants emphasized the importance of continuing to organize such events and meetings, which foster the exchange of expertise and support education and scientific research in the Arab world.
